Working with my mom

Hello, I am Angela Stewart, Shiela Stewart"s daughter. I think its pretty neat being the daughter of an author. When my friends ask what my parents do for a living and I tell them that my mom's an author, it feels good to see how amazed they are. My mother won't let me read her books but I hope to be able to when I'm a little older. My mother sort of inspired me to keep on working on my writing. I'm hoping one day to get published, just like my mom. I was eleven years old when my mom got published. It was a really awesome day. Once I found out that my mother could get published, Ifigured if I tried hard enough and didn't give up I could be just like her. I'm not published yet but I'm gonna keep on trying, just like my mom.

I also enjoy writing, although I have never been able to finish a book. I hope one day I'll be able to get one of my books published like my mom. As well as writing I also like drawing, video games, and singing. Although I want to become a published author, I also want to be a veterinarian when I grow up. I love animals and so do my parents. We love them so much that we ended up adopting five cats, one dog, three turtles and seven fish! Its like a zoo in our house!

I also have two older brothers, their pretty annoying most of the time but I can get my revenge, heheh. ;). I'm in high school right now, but I'm really shy so I'm struggling a lot to make friends. Lucky for me though, I have one friend from elementary school go to the same High school as me and she's introduced me to one of her friends and now we're friends too. I've also been able to make friends in my learning assistance and gym classes, simply because we have a lot in common.

I really like the Sonic the Hedgehog video game series, it drives my mom and most of my friends nuts. I write comic books, and books, and the walls in my room are plastered with pictures of Sonic and the crew. It's kind of fun to bug my parents about it and stuff. My favorite TV show is Sonic X and my mom absolutely hates it! So i ike to bug her by watching it on TV while she's upstairs. so know you know a little bit about me, maybe someday one of my brothers will log on and tell you alitte about them, maybe even my dad! :)

Hi Angela! I have a 13yr. old daughter too and she loves telling her friends that her mom is an author. She's not crazy about reading and writing like you are though. Maybe when she gets a bit older she will be.

Good luck in you're own writing and have fun with your mom today!

hugs,
Anne

Enjoy your day Ang! That's so exciting. I am sure you can impress a "few" people when you say you got to stay home with your author Mom!! Impressive.
They didn't have anythign like that when I was in high school (and I'm not THAT old) but I would have taken the opportunity to be at home with my "stay at home" mom.

P.S. Justin misses you:)

What a good idea. My daughter is 17and I'm having her go through the young adult book I'm writing now just to make sure I have the lingo right. She's helped me a great deal. That's great that you want to write like your mom. You must have a great imagination.

You sound like a very ambitious young woman Angela. With your attitude, you will have much success in life.

It's great that you have such a positive role model in your mother! Plus, when you do finish your books and are ready to get them published, she will be a very valuable person to draw upon for information!
